In 1938, my father, Dr. June U. Gunter, performed the autopsy on sculptor R. Tait MacKenzie in Philadephia, PA, USA, and removed his heart for burial in Edinburgh. Then in 1942, while stationed with the Navy in Londonderry, he visited Edinburgh and your church cemetery to see where the heart had been buried. I have photographs of my father in his Navy uniform kneeling at that site. Just thought you'd like to know. Sure wish I could visit there someday myself to see it. I was in Edinburgh in 1967, but was only a teenager then, travelling with some friends, and daddy had not told me this bit of history. Now I am reading some of his many letters to his mother during the war, and visiting the cemetery at your church was certainly one of the highlights of his time in the military. Betsy Gunter Johnson

I'm the Pastor at St. Peter's by the Sea Presbyerian Church in Rancho Palos Verdes, California (LA area). I'll be in Edinburgh Sunday July 20 and Ian Alexander suggested my wife and I worship with you that morning. I'll come and introduce myself and would love a few minutes to talk after the service. I'm greatly interested in meeting Scottish pastors and discovering how our parish joys and concerns might be similar. I look forward to seeing you soon. We leave Saturday for Germany to begin my sabbatical. Clayton Cobb

I have been in contact with you recently about my family all who seem to have been associated with St Cuthberts - The Wesslink Family Thank you so very much for your reply to my query. Is St Cuthberts the same as the Lothian Rd Associate Congregation? This is also mentioned on my list of ancestors as the place of christening of several of my grand uncles and aunts Once again thanks and keep up the good work Fraternally John Ford
