Pastoral Letter
Dear Friends,
As we stood around the spectacularly restored Ross Fountain sharing the 9.30am Communion on 8th July I was struck by how we don't need to travel far to see things differently.
Looking at the gathered congregation there was a new backdrop to what I am used to when presiding in our magnificent Church. This time I saw the Lord lifting up his face to shine upon you on a fine summer's morning and behind was the avenue of trees stretching all the way along the Gardens - it's a beautiful Parish full of beautiful people! |
As we walked back to the Church a young mother ran over from the play park to say it was 'so good to see you all sharing communion around the fountain that was very special and something I will always remember.' Long summer days are what memories are made of and walking with Christ to encounter him in the bread and wine as we blessed ourselves with the water from the fountain just a few hundred metres from our Church is one I will never forget. |
