Campaign Update
Time is now speeding by - there are only two months until the start of the
campaign. But rest assured - panix hasn't set in...yet !
On the contrary we are more excited than ever about the response to our
efforts. This is particulalry true of the Stewardship Festival which you will
read about elsewhere in this issue. We take huge encouragement from the energy
and enthusiasm which this has already generated and thank you to those who have
already shown an interest.
In this issue you will also find a letter from Sheila Kirk about Musicans
For Tomorrow. This is a great way for those of us with musical talents to
express then and feel a strong sense of fellowship. Please come forward in
numbers for what should be a very enjoyable event.
Coming Attractions !
By now you should be familiar with the core of our programme, namely the
visits and special services on the themes of time, talents and money. On top of
these we are now planning two additional initiatives, a series of Bible
Study and Prayer evenings and a Stewardship Festival. Think of these
as the icing and marzipan on the For Tomorrow cake !
The Bible Study and Prayer evenings will run on Wednesday evenings from 12
September to 10 October inclusive. These will cover the main themes of
stewardship : creation, gospel, time, talents and money. This will really help
to cement the way we think about the Stewardship campaiogn. We encourage as
many of you as possible to attend, and thank the Christian Education Committe
for their help and support.
The Stewardship Festival will run for a week betwee the second and third
special services (21 to 28 October). It will consist of stalls and displays
representing each of the church groups, both internal and external. This
showcase will help to remind us how many different projects and activities are
persued in and around St Cuthbert's. Hopefully, it will also help to encourage
members of the congregation to get more involved.
You will hear more about these events nearer the time, but please try and
give them your support.

Musicians For Tomorrow
Do you play a musical instrument ? Would you liek to share this gift in
fellowship with others ? If so, the For Tomorrow team would like to hear from
you.
As part of the For Tomorrow programme of events we will be holding an informal
gathering for music making and fellowship towards the end of the summer period.
All levels of proficiency and all ages will be welcome - God's gift of music is
for sharing ! Watch out for notice of this event in future issues of For
Tomorrow
It would be a help to us in arranging this event if we could have an idea of
how many folk would be interested, and what instruments - including voice -
they play. If you are interested please e-mail us at [email protected]
Sheila and Victoria will be bringing their clarsach and clarinet - and they
both agrtee that they need lots more practice, so don't be shy - come and join
us ! |
